UNM President David Schmidly’s vision for UNM sets out several aggressive goals relative to improving the retention and graduation rates of UNM students. The new UNM Success Center is envisioned as a facility that will aid in reaching those goals by providing our largely commuter student body with easy access to a range of student and academic support services. Given its proximity to Central New Mexico Community College, it is will also be a resource, particularly for current and future transfer students. In addition to being the primary home of the Athletics Advisement and Compliance Center, other services being envisioned include a one-stop for student admissions, registration, financial aid, etc. The Center will also be the home of the new UNM Veterans’ Center which will ease the transition back into civilian and student life for returning men and women in service.
